In the name of the Lord, we joyfully announce the triumphant conclusion of the 32nd Biennial Conference of the Student Christian Movement of Nigeria, themed “RAISING SONS OF ISSACHAR” (1 Chronicles 12:32). This four-day spiritual gathering took place from August 31st to September 3rd, 2023 at the esteemed John R. Mott Center in Port Harcourt and we were profoundly blessed by divine intervention throughout.
The World Student Christian Federation in Latin America and the Caribbean held its XIV Regional Assembly and Thematic Consultation on Democracy, Human Rights and Fundamentalisms between the 25th to 28th of November at the Anglican Seminary of San Andrés in Mexico City.
WSCF-Europe hosted its virtual Regional Assembly on 6-7 November with the delegates coming from the Student Christian Movements (SCMs) in 15 countries in Europe.
A two-day intense programme of the Assembly included reporting of the WSCF-Europe work of the last two years, presenting the 2022-2023 budget, work on the strategic priorities for the next strategic period, reflections and invitations to the WSCF General Assembly in Germany in June 2022 and election of a new leadership team for the 2021-2023 term.
Between Youth Influence and Influencing the Youth
The World Student Christian Federation - Middle East Region held “Ayia Napa 35” in Cairo, Egypt, between October 2nd to 7th, 2021. “Ayia Napa” is another name for the region’s annual leadership program, which aims to train youth to become future leaders who will positively reshape their communities in the Middle East and will commit to witnessing their faith in Church and society. The thirty-fifth iteration of “Ayia Napa” was titled “Between Youth Influence and Influencing the Youth,” tackling the mutual influence that youth and the world around them have on each other. In attendance were forty youth from SCMs in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Sudan, and Syria.
