WSCF Middle East region is looking for a new regional secretary to start immediately
The Regional Executive and Global Program Director is responsible for coordinating, managing, supporting, organizing and expanding WSCF activities globally and regionally, according to the WSCF Constitution and By-laws. They are to act on recommendations of the Executive and Regional Committee respecting local laws.
The Regional Executive and Global Program Director will work with the Secretary General and Student Christian Movements (SCMs), and cooperate with the Regional Chair and Executive Committee members, to ensure that the mission of the Federation is fulfilled through programs and strategic planning.
Key competences
- Thorough understanding of the ecumenical scene in the Middle East region
- Deep understanding of role of the Federation of the region.
- Understanding of the role of SCMs within the ecumenical movement in the region
- Deep understanding of the socio-political situation in the region
- Proved affiliation/association within an SCM in the region (NOT mandatory)

Responsibilities
Programme Planning, Implementation and Monitoring
- Prepare Project Proposals
- Plan, co-ordinate and implement global programmes and projects based on the mandate and general policy guidelines formulated by the General Assembly and Executive Committee
- Plan, co-ordinate and implement the regional programmes as mandated by the General Assembly, Executive Committee and Regional Committee
- Work in collaboration with the General Secretary and other Programme and Regional Chair and ExCo to prepare and produce the Strategic plan of the Federation
Finance
- Fundraise for the strategic plan of the Federation as well as the for the regional programmes
- Prepare financial plans, budgets and actual expenditure reports (for all projects)
- Prepare budgeting and reporting in standardized format as developed by the IRO
- Carry out Audited Report of the Regional Office
Administration
- Report to the Inter-Regional Office, Executive Committee, and quarterly to the Regional Committee on regional administration and finances
- Adhere to the recommendations and decisions of the Regional Committee
- Keep updated files of all regional activities
- Keep updated administrative and financial records
- Oversee the hiring process for, and manage, employees, interns and volunteers in the region
- Ensure a smooth and orderly handover to the next Program and Regional Secretary at the end of her/his term
Communication
- Relay information from the Inter-Regional Office to the national movements in the region
- Facilitate communication between national movements, regional committees, Executive Committee, Inter-Regional Office and other regional offices
- Relay information between youth movements and non-governmental organisations within the region
- Ensure efficient communication with Senior Friends in the region
- Ensure communication with the Trustees of the Centennial Fund in the region
- Ensure production of the narrative and financial report for the Red Book and all other reports of the region and their dissemination
- Publicize the work, activities of the organizations, its programs and mission
- Ensure the operation and updating of the WSCF-ME website and all WSCF-ME pages on the social media (Facebook, Instagram, …)
Governance
- Organise the regular regional statutory meetings as set in the Regional bye-laws
- Work with the Executive and Regional Committee Members in order to fulfill the mission and goals of the Federation
- Provide to the Executive and Regional Committee Members in a timely and accurate manner all the information and materials necessary for them to make informed decisions
- Respecting the traditions/backgrounds of the SCMS and the region and the Regional Committee recommendations and applying them in all work aspects
Networking and Partnership Building
- Interpret and articulate the vision and work of the Federation to churches, regional ecumenical bodies and fellow organisations, students organisations and partners
- Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations and utilize those relationships strategically to enhance WSCF’s Mission
- Ensure registration and recognition of the Regional aspect of the Federation by the Authorities of the Country in which the office is located (if applicable)
- Participate in local governmental and non-governmental functions, conferences or seminars in the Region to present WSCF Advocacy work

Job Requirement
Experience
- At least 2 years of successful program and project/event delivery experience
- Budget and fundraising experience
- Leadership experience
Knowledge
- Mandatory Knowledge of Christian/faith based/ youth/NGO organisations
- Knowledge of donor fundings- EU/global/national/other
