Associations

WSCF is a non-governmental organization in special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council at the United Nations (ECOSOC) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO); advisory status to the World Council of Churches (WCC) Central Committee; and member of the Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance and Act Alliance.

 
ECOSOC The Economic and Social Council is at the heart of the United Nations system to advance the three dimensions of sustainable development – economic, social and environmental. It is the central platform for fostering debate and innovative thinking, forging consensus on ways forward, and coordinating efforts to achieve internationally agreed goals. It is also responsible for the follow-up to major UN conferences and summits.
 

UNESCO UNESCO works to fosters dialogue and mutual understanding among the peoples of the world. In a fragile world, a peace based exclusively upon the political and economic arrangements of governments would not secure the lasting and sincere support of the peoples. Lasting peace must be founded upon the intellectual and moral solidarity of humanity, human rights and human dignity, including at the heart of today’s increasingly diverse societies.

 

WCC The World Council of Churches is a fellowship of churches which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the scriptures, and therefore seek to fulfil together their common calling to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is a community of churches on the way to visible unity in one faith and one eucharistic fellowship, expressed in worship and in common life in Christ.

 

ACT Alliance ACT Alliance is a coalition of more than 140 churches and church-related organisations working together in over 100 countries to create positive and sustainable change in the lives of poor and marginalised people regardless of their religion, politics, gender, sexual orientation, race or nationality in keeping with the highest international codes and standards.

 
EAA The Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance is a diverse global network of churches and related organizations committed to campaigning together on common concerns for justice and human dignity. Current campaign issues are HIV and AIDS and food security and sustainable agriculture.
